Position:                      Testing, Adjusting, & Balancing (TAB) Certified Professional (CP)

Job Summary: This is a Management level position responsible for managing all operational aspects of the Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB) Projects including but not limited to the timely and successful completion of all projects, the continued training and supervision of all field technicians, building long-term relationships with all customers, clients, and team members, and assisting with the implementation the aggressive growth strategies for our company to become and maintain the reputation of the Southeast’s leader in commercial and industrial Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing.  

Role:   Through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style guided by the principals and objectives of the company, NEBB Certified Professionals (NEBB CPs) should provide the leadership, management, technical competence, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative procedures, and relationship building techniques in place to effectively grow our organization while maintaining our core values of Integrity, Professionalism, and Trust.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Certified Professionals shall ensure that the project work is performed to NEBB Procedural Standards and that a copy of the Procedural Standards is readily available, as needed.
• Responsible for all projects as a company representative at required meetings.
• Ensure all system shave been tested, Adjusted, and Balanced in accordance with the NEBB Procedural Standards and the contract documents to assure accuracy of all data included in the final TAB Report.
• Manage the Company’s Equipment Calibration Program and Equipment Comparative Calibration Program to ensure NEBB and Project calibration requirements are maintained.
• Leads, trains (based on NEBB / Company literature and hands on training), and develops the professional growth of TAB Technicians to ensure they possess knowledge of HVAC system fundamentals and operating characteristics.
• Possess the knowledge and skill in the proper use and care of all company equipment.  
• Ensures either a NEBB CP or a NEBB CT is continually present while TAB work is being performed on every NEBB certified project, and directing those technicians in performing the work.
• Responsible for the accuracy of any field measurements and certified reports generated.
• Responsible for completing a comprehensive review of all reports prior to certifying
• Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of all TAB Technicians.
• Directs the implementation and execution of new projects as outlined through contractual requirements.

Restrictive access requirements:

• Approved access to government facilities based on personal background checks completed by both SMI Group, Inc. and/or the United States Government (US Government entities, subsidiaries, or approved organizations).  Our current office is located on a government installation (Naval Air Station Jacksonville). If non-approval (for access to government installations) is returned, following an access request for any current employee or potential employee, employment eligibility may be negated.

Knowledge:

• Microsoft Operating System proficiency:
• EXCELL
• Word
• Mathematical proficiency is a necessity for completing basic and advanced equations associated with Air and Hydronic balancing.
• Learn and understand the operational characteristics and capabilities of all required test equipment prior to project commencement.
• Continuously educate oneself to become capable of performing assigned tasks without direct, full time supervision. 
• Learn and understand the design intent of each given system associated with a project prior to project commencement (some research may be required).
• Ability to review and understand mechanical, plumbing, control schematics, and other documents associated with projects.
• Ability to read and understand the statement of work (SOW) for each project.
• Ability to read and understand sequence of operation (SOO) for all associated systems of each project.
• Complete ECATTS (Environmental Compliance Assessment, Training, and Tracking System) training as required for projects on all government facilities.
• The ability to learn, understand, and successfully incorporate the procedures for Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing systems as required by NEBB (National Environmental Balancing Bureau) based on the Testing, Adjusting, Balancing Manual for Technicians while maintaining compliance with the latest revisions of the Procedural Standard for Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing of Environmental Systems and the NEBB Operational Procedures.
• Ability to understand and analyze mechanical HVAC systems for determining issues and determining basic recommendations for issue resolution(s).
